Daniel Amarante is an assistant professor of chemistry at Hostos Community College of the City University of New York (CUNY), where he is transforming STEM education through innovative teaching, research-integrated learning, and inclusive instructional practices. Professor Daniel Amarante’s work focuses on modernizing chemistry education by designing inquiry-based laboratory experiences that replace traditional exercises with authentic scientific research, helping students develop critical thinking, scientific literacy, and digital competency.

Professor Amarante teaches general chemistry courses that serve as foundational pathways for nursing, dental hygiene, and other health science programs. He integrates evidence-based pedagogy, active learning strategies, and responsible AI-supported tools to create engaging and accessible learning environments for students from diverse academic backgrounds.
